26 weeks pain

I'm 26+1 with dc2 and my lower bump and lower back are suddenly really hurting and my bump has gone hard. It feels like a really intense tightening.

I was thinking it could be braxton hicks but I don't remember them being this bad with dc1.

Any ideas?

Apparently BH can be worse with subsequent pregnancies. Drink loads of water and keep moving. That should improve the situation. But if you have period-like cramping, spotting, or other symptoms that could be suggestive of pre-term labour then definitely get yourself checked out. I hope you feel better soon!

Is it coming and going or there all the time? I'd take some paracetamol and have a bath and see if that shifts it. If you are at all concerned I would call triage to be checked over, just to be on the safe side.

@UpToMyElbowsInDiapers I didn't know that! I just assumed they'd be the same in both lol. I've done loads of walking today and have spd so wondering if I've just pushed myself too much.
Been resting since I posted and it's eased a bit.

@Sunshinegirl82 it just stayed for about 10 minutes and then started to ease. Gonna take it easy and if it happens again, I'll call triage.

I was going to say pelvic girdle pain. Mine was much worse when I had done a lot of walking /carrying/housework.

Mrsmummy90 · 20/04/2019 18:35

@ParisWilton did you get the bump tightening as well?
I can barely walk now as it is but I like to take my daughter to the park so have been overdoing it.

Sorry for the delay. Yes I did get the bump tightening. I never had braxton hicks with my first pregnancy and the pain was worse after I did a lot so I assume it was spd/pgp. However, trust your instincts, if you're concerned contact your midwife
