Any tips to get baby to move?

I am currently 17+3 weeks pregnant and went for a gender scan, had to rebook it though as baby is being proper lazy 😩😂

Any tips on how to get him or her to move or turn around as at the moment the baby is lying with the head down, bum and spine up. Legs are tucked against the genitals so couldn’t see anything.

Any tips appreciated or what worked for you ☺️

Unfortunately mine was a wriggler and had to rebook our measuring scans TWICE because he was moving too much. Blush even now he's here, he's really nosey and alert, and constantly wriggling/twitching/startling lol Grin the one time they needed him to move positions, they actually stood me up and made me do jumping jacks!!

sirmione16 😂😂 I would probably rather have had a wriggler today. I had to do jumping jacks too, didn’t work so she told me to drink lucozade and go for a walk and jump around. Still didn’t move the baby even an inch 😂

I had to do jumping jacks as well. And also lie down and bend my knees up, lift my bum up and shake my hips. It was quite undignified but it did work (I also have a stubborn and uncooperative wriggler)

mynameiscalypso I might try that, didn’t try that so might work and drink something sugary. Hopefully get a move on baby 😂

A really cold drink (with lots of ice cubes)

Ellii · 20/04/2019 15:16

poppet131 I will try that ☺️ Thank you, just need to get him or her to turn around the other way haha

At our private 4D scan, we were told that I should have something like a McFlurry beforehand if in the afternoon, or Coco Pops for breakfast if a morning scan, when I rebooked as they couldn't see him. Then a fizzy, sugary drink on the way to the scan.

I had the Coco Pops and drink for the second scan and it worked a treat.

High sugar makes them hyper, I guess.

Ice cream. There are other ways, but ice cream is the most enjoyable.

Sugar! The lady doing my scan (for the 3rd time as baby was not in the right position) told me to eat anything high in sugar about 20 minutes before returning.

Don't go for a nice long walk before the scan if you can avoid it, it lulls them to sleep and then they won't move for love nor money nor podding nor hip shaking!!

Mine was most active after a meal so probably the fresh dose of energy helped.

At my gender scan they made me do “big coughs”

It worked!!

Thanks everyone, fingers crossed for tomorrow that baby will show and will not be awkward haha 😂

How are you OP? Hopefully not too hyped up on sugar (though maybe it's helped the jumping and wriggling) Grin

Ellii · 22/04/2019 18:03

sirmione16 hey, at least it worked. Had a bottle of coke in the bus and some m&m’s 😂😂😳 we will have another little girl in September ☺️
