Hi everyone
I am 36 weeks pregnant and have just started maternity leave. I had been desperate to start as was finding it tough, but now it's begun I feel on edge, anxious and empty.
In the mornings i go into nesting mode and tidy/ cook/ plan, but then i get tired so quickly and get back and hip ache so have to stop.
I feel like I'm going to go insane over the next few weeks with the waiting.
I'm trying to make plans to stay busy, but the thought of doing anything is making me feel overwhelmed and tired.
I feel like crying most of the time.
Is this normal? What can i do?

I'm so sorry you feel so rotten. The last weeks of pregnancy are really hard

Have your had anxiety in the past?

I'm quite an anxious person generally but have felt it's been under control during the pregnancy. I worry a lot, but it hasn't felt all consuming like it does now x

I genuinely don't know if this is the case for you but I had awful anxiety symptoms towards the end of pregnancy. I worked right to the end and I needed it because I needed the distraction. I needed to be busy to manage it (for me it wasn't worries, it was like really physically on edge)

It completely stopped the minute I gave birth.

So maybe ... talk to people about it, do whatever you need to look after yourself and try to keep distracted, remembering that it will likely pass soon enough?
