Hi! I'm currently 42 expecting my 3rd child. I just wanted to hear about other pregnant ladies in their 40's. What are your main concerns?

I'm 30 weeks with my second and am 41. To be honest so far it's been a straightforward pregnancy and am feeling great (other than exhausted from having a toddler). Did the NIPT test privately at 10 weeks so that if positive we would know as early as possible. Except for that it has been monitored the same as any other pregnancy. I had my first at 39 though so have been a geriatric for both of them and have nothing to compare to!

I had my second at 42. No problems at all. She's great.

Im 39 and 11wks pregnant, i always worry at any age ive been pregnant.have had more pain & tiredness this time around.
How many weeks are u?

I’m 40 pregnant with my first.
I’ve been a nanny for 24 years, so know what I’m in for. But I wanted to wait until I was ready to do it myself.
My biggest problem right now is tiredness and the awful nausea and heartburn, but now taking Zantac and is really helping.

Hi, I'm 42 and 8 weeks pregnant with my 4th! 😱 not exactly planned but not prevented either, happy surprise...I'm currently suffering from awful morning sickness, fatigue and dizziness, really it has knocked me for 6! Hopefully it will lift soon, I had it with my previous pregnancy 9years ago but can't remember what week it got better....I've booked a private nipt test too, we're only going to tell people if we get all clear from the test.. difficult to act normal in front of my DC when all I want to do is to lay down right now!

I'm 41 and 12 weeks with number 3...worrying about how I'll cope with 3 and how much harder it will be physically the further on I get...the exhaustion this time so far is on another level!

Silvanna · 21/04/2019 23:08

Congratulations to you all lovely ladies. I'm also finding that this time I'm way more exhausted than my previous pregnancies. I'm only 6 weeks pregnant so I still have to wait a bit for my first scan and hopefully get a bit of reassurance.

I’m 41 and 18 weeks pregnant with 3rd. Huge shock but getting use to idea now. My two other ‘children’ are actually adults now so it’s odd going back to baby stage again. Very tired, constant nausea and lot of stomach pains which I didn’t have in previous pregnancies - think the problem is I have zero stomach muscles!. So far all tests, blood pressure etc have been perfect.

Hi I am 41 and pregnant with DC’s 4&5 , i am just worried about spreading myself between them all as they will all be under 10. I had an awful start to this pregnancy but now at 22 weeks I am feeling better , just massive ! good luck to everyone

Silvanna · 23/04/2019 17:02

@Belson Congratulations. I'm sure it's weird to think about starting all over again when your other children are all grown up. Glad everything is going well xx
