Hi all, my wife had a d and c following a miscarriage 7 weeks today. No post op or anything from the hospital which was annoying! Went to our local doctor Monday who was and is excellant, told her she’s not had a period yet so asked us to do a home test which came back positive. The next day she took her bloods which showed 11118 HCG and yesterday took the bloods again which showed 17880 so an increase in 60% does this seem to high at a maximum of 7 weeks and also a little low increase for pregnancy???? They are taking bloods again Tuesday to be certain but it’s 4 days away which seems a lifetime to wait :(

Had she had a negative test or a scan or anything after the D+C?

Nothing we didn’t get told to do anything. We kept ringing the hospital because they suspected molar pregnancy so we was chasing the results but results came back as a missed miscarriage which was great news but that’s all we was told. So no this is the first time doing tests. If anything was left over from the d and c everywhere I look say the HCG levels are elevated but never jump 60%

If HCG levels are rising and especially by that much then it probably is a new pregnancy. I had a miscarriage not long ago and my bloods were 67 HCG by week 4. But best to get confirmation fingers crossed for you both :)

Hi @ncadx may I ask what your HCG levels was before the miscarriage? Ours was 75000 they said, such a stressing part of life. I feel useless not being able to help

I can’t remember exactly but it was over 100,000 at 8 weeks which I though was very high but must have been normal. I’m sure the HCG rapidly drops after a miscarriage and I don’t see why it would increase. :)
