Pink spotting at 6 weeks

Hi,

I'm just over six weeks' pregnant and since Wednesday evening I've had very light pink spotting on tissue paper. Not seen it in underwear and it's not heavy, red or painful. Has anyone had this and what was the outcome? I've seen my GP and he's just said give it a week and take another pregnancy test next week. The wait is hard!

A small amount of spotting can be normal during early pregnancy, as it's most likley implantation bleeding. But if it gets any heavier and is painful you need to see someone asap. And also as your dr said wait and test again next week.

You could give your local epu a call. Most likely they'll say wait and see what happens if it gets painful or heavy come in to see us. They will hopefully be able to offer some reassurance

Personally I find dr pretty useless when pregnancy is involved so calling the epu for advice might be better

Thanks. Where I am the EPU is not self-referral so you need to be referred by a GP unless you've already been seen by them. I thought implantation bleeding happened much earlier; as surely at 6 weeks' it implanted over two weeks ago? I know there's not much I can do but I was wondering if people have had this and still had a viable pregnancy?

I had exactly this during week 6 and like you only when wiping. I’m now 18 weeks and only had one other time of spotting during week 13. Like the other ladies said if it’s not accompanied by pain and isn’t heavy it’s probably nothing to worry about. Spotting is very common actually xxx

Thank you babycakes. All the best with the rest of your pregnancy!

@blondie87 I had bleeds at 6/8/11 weeks then a massive one at 14 weeks. Pretty much constant bleeds from 23 weeks on wards. Baby is healthy 10 months

@Mintypea5 I'm so happy you had a good outcome 😀
Very reassuring 👍🏻

I had this until 9 weeks. I had 2 early scans and everything was fine, a good strong heart beat and couldn't find a reason for the pink spotting. I was told to take it easy, no sex, no heavy lifting and its stopped now.

Thank you for sharing your experience @Oldmotherhubbardlivesinashoe. It's still there, not got heavier. Still no pain but I'm starting to worry a bit. I know there is nothing that can be done but the not knowing is hard. Appreciate those who have commented.

I have had 3 episodes of pink discharge spotting the past week and a half. I was the same as you and I was very worried but I have been told by both my midwife and a family friend who works as a doctor in the gynaecology department that it's nothing to worry about. I was still concerned though so today we had a private scan. I am only 7 weeks and 1 day but the baby is absolutely fine and we saw the baby's heart beating. I am so in love already.

I should have just listened to everyone and realised that it was nothing to worry about !
