Hi all

Just wondered if anyone else had a similar reaction to Boostrix IPV? I’m 26 weeks and I had my vaccine on Monday and I feel awful right now. Fever, chills, acid reflux, nausea and migraine with aura. I knew I may feel a bit rubbish but not this ill. Hoping it passes soon!

I felt like that last week, hadn’t had my vaccine though, did have the chest infection thing that’s going round and is horrible.

When I did have my whooping cough vaccine all I had was a sore arm. It’s not a live vaccine so you can’t be ill from it.

The timing is coincidence rather than causation.

Hope you feel better soon.

I had mine on Tuesday and only had a sore arm. As above, it’s not a live vaccine so it’s not caused your symptoms. Sorry you aren’t feeling well.,Flowers

Like others have said it’s a coincidence and you’ve caught a bug. You can’t get ill from the whooping cough vaccine, it’s not a live vaccine and chances are you are already immune to it anyway it’s just to protect baby.

If you look at the NHS website it does site fever, chills and nausea as potential side effects. I also experienced mild fever and nausea having just had the vaccine. Three days later I was feeling better though so hopefully you will be fine soon.

My nurse told me il probably feel ill from it even though it’s not a live vaccine, it says that in the medical leaflet I got given too. I felt pretty crap for a day and abit , I had a really bad headache and a slight fever just like when you have a cold. Xx

Just to clarify I know I haven’t caught whooping cough from the vaccine and know it’s not a live vaccine. It was more side effects from the vaccine and after speaking to the dr this morning she thinks it was a reaction (I’m allergic to some antibiotics and there’s an ingredient to it that I could’ve reacted to so just good to know)

Just good to know others had similar as never reacted to vaccines before.

Thank you all for well wishes Smile
