Dear Future Moms!
I am a master’s student studying Foundations in Clinical Psychology at Goldsmiths University. I am reaching out in hopes of recruiting participants for my thesis research project regarding ‘Simulation and Worry in pregnancy and early motherhood’ which is ran by my supervisor Dr Lorna Goddard. This project examines how first-time pregnant women would imagine (ie. simulate) their future and how this would affect their current anxiety and impact their later experience of childbirth and early motherhood. Research has shown that imagining the future has proved to present as an effective coping strategy. I am interested in how this strategy would be utilised to alleviate pregnancy and pre-natal mood disorders. I am looking for women who would be able to take part in a 20-minute interview, which includes mood questionnaires and discussing imagining future events to unfold. If you feel you could help me with participant recruitment, then please let me know the best time and method of contacting you to discuss further.
Best wishes,
Amanda Chester
