Hi all, anyone have any recommendations on how to beat the bloat? I am 13 weeks and have suffered my whole pregnancy with bloat. When I went for my ultrasound she said how gassy I was and to speak to my midwife at my 16 week appointment but was wondering in the meantime if anyone has any ideas or things that worked for them? I am constantly bloated and it makes its way out any end it wants. Don't feel like much of a woman right now ha x

Peppermint tea! It helps with heartburn I found as well, so two birds with one stone.

I used peppermint leaves as well as tea bags to make it extra strong. It did get better the further into the 2nd trimester I got. Congratulations on your baby Smile

For me, just time. I felt so ill in the first trimester, and my stomach was so tender I often couldn’t even bear to have the weight of a t-shirt on it (I was in under-bump maternity trousers at about 6 weeks because a proper height waistband was out of the question).

By about 13 weeks things were improving somewhat. I think it was 14 or 15 weeks when things were starting to approach normal, and past 20 weeks when I could bear the pressure of a waistband, but nothing was as bad as those early weeks, when my stomach was just rock hard and enormous.

(I couldn’t really face any anti-bloating remedies in the early weeks, anyway - I could only eat and drink what my body told me was acceptable, which varied constantly and wasn’t always easy to obtain. So sorry if my advice isn’t aimed very well, but I expect that things will naturally start to get better for you soon, even if you don’t find a good remedy.)
