I know alot of the old wives tales about inducing labour are rubbish but did anyone try anything that they truely believed worked for them?? ie, sex, raspberry leaf tea, long walks etc?!

Im getting impatient!

don't laugh, but i spent a long night in hospital because fore waters had broken, but no sign of labour, and decided to try jumping up and down a lot - felt something 'ping' and went in to labour with twins

hi yumeymummy... really sorry you have gone over..! how frustrating.. lil one must be too warm and comfy.

With ds2 i tried everything from a teaspoon of castor oil, hot curry, hot bath, hot sex, raspberry leaf tea, fresh pineapple, body brushing... absolutely everything anyone could tell me or find out for me i tried.!

After 3 days and pure desperation my mate took me to the park and we played (quite strenuously) on the seesaw for half hour... within the hour i was contracting and 5 hours later my little boy was born... still in his waters!

so i agree with luckylady74.. lots of jumping up and jolting back to gravity!

good luck!

Yumeymummy
Reflexology worked a treat for me, got her to really focus on uterus & cervix
6 hrs later labour started

you need a mumsnet doula....

...but their usual advice is sex, nipple stimulation, bouncing on birthing ball, sidestepping up and down stairs, more sex and more nipple stimulation and visualisation.

and did i mention nipple stimulation.

some people swear by pineapples, mango juice, castor oil, hot curry, guinness etc etc etc, but i think that these things will only work if you are ready to go anyway.

hope it isn't too long for you now.

good luck and enjoy your LO when he/she finally puts in an appearance

Do you know anyone that has a dance mat( you know the ones that plug into telly or playstation??) Someone told me to have a go on that so I am going to dig my sons old one out tomoro. Tried hot curry last night........still waddling about, went to tescos and bought a pineapple today but dont feel like eating it tonight and I have drank rt from morning till midnight. Ive also been told to blow up balloons??? Its worth a shot I suppose, mind you if your anything like me you will be lucky if you get one blown up, im gasping for air just climbing the stairs!! Good luck anyway xx

My baby fought her way out. I was in bed and she was seriously wriggling. After a few hours of it, my waters broke and I was off to hospital. I'm sure it was her who decided when she was going to come out!

And I know it is frustrating, it was to me. But, this time around I am going to try and enjoy every prescious moment before baby no2 arrives. I'm not sure if this is your first or not but - if it is - enjoy little simple pleasures now!!!

how overdue though? we're you a 28 day cycle in the 1st place? or are you just overdue by the 'guideline'

Raspleaf tea, pineapple, walking upstairs, boucning on balls, none worked for me, seemed sex did the trick twice thought
