Has anyone recently given birth at either as I have heard really bad reviews on both :(
Chester labour ward Iv heard has terrible aftercare and Wrexham terrible delivery experience.
My first birth and I don’t know whether to travel further afield.
Anyone any advice?

Are you in wales? I thought the Countess had stopped taking welsh patients?

Hi, there's a lot of discussion about this one the New Mums of Chester Facebook group. www.facebook.com/groups/NewMumsofChester/?ref=share

Have you thought about one to one midwives, I'm in Cheshire and entitled to use them, they specialise in home births or if you decide to go to hospital your dedicated midwife who you see throughout your pregnancy can come with you

You don't have to pay for parking at Wrexham!

Child could play rugby for Wales?
Less traffic in Wrexham and registry office easier to get to.
Nice birth certificate with Welsh language.
Opportunity to use lovely Welsh names.

I had my daughter at the countess, & granted it was 7 years ago but I didn't have the best experience.

Being resus negative, the care I received beforehand was fantastic but tbh, after that, it wasn't great. But wherever you go, you'll hear good & bad things. Good luck with your decision x
