Hi ladies. I have a question. With my first daughter my hip would be clicking in and out of place and grinding against its bones from 33weeks up but every so often and not that painfull. She was born on her due date. I was induced due to gestational diabetes. She's now 2.
But this pregnancy with my hip is horrific. I'm only 23weeks and my hip (right) is grinding and sending shooting pains and spasms and horrific pains.I can hardly walk most times, and when I do its such a struggle and I limp. I take paracetamol when it happens but it doesn't do a thing. Happens every day, mainly afternoons, gets me so down and I can't see my midwife until the 30th.
I will explain this to her but most people are saying to me she probably won't do anything, I don't mind that, I'll try anything if anyone has any ideas??

Also not sure if this is true or not, but I've heard stories- if it kept on until I was heavily pregnant, and I hit the 37w mark, do you think I could ask my midwife to possibly be induced early ish? I just don't think I could cope heavily pregnant. I can hardly cope now x
thanks x

You may have a tear in your labrum? I have this and it was diagnosed before pregnancy and I was offered surgery (very invasive and a 12 week recovery), however I declined- I saw a consultant at the start of pregnancy who told me what painkillers I could continue taking however he said it should make no real difference with regards to my pregnancy or labour (except I won't be able to go in stirrups) and they intend on letting me go full term. If you have a consultant which you should do if you previously had GD then speak with them about your concerns
