Hi,
Just a bit worried as due to Easter i feel i wont be getting as much follow up and might even get close to 42 weeks before they offer me something. According to my 12-week scan, my LDP and conception day, I'm due on the 16th of April. However, as i live in NI & they like to be special here, they changed the date in the 20-week scan to the 20th (unlike the rest of the UK and against the advice of current research). Low risk pregnancy, I had the 38 week app last Thursday in which no much was done (obs, urine, tape, etc). I was told i didn't need to see them this week and because of Monday and Tuesday Bank holidays next week my next app will be on that Thursday the 25th. Then, they could book me in for a sweep if i want. Now, i will be 40+5 according to their date or 41+2 according to the first scan so i don't feel confortable leaving it so late and then waiting for them to book me for a sweep, which could be on monday since the app is on Thursday pm.
This is my first baby and i haven't had any signs of labour or the minimum pain, i don't even know what a braxton-hicks contraction feel like. but the baby is acting up: last night she moved from 11pm to 3am without stop no matter which position i lied in or if i moved or walked. The day before she didn't move in the evening at all (i even called the EOU but she started moving after eating sweets, so i didn't get checked).
I am very small under 5 foot and the baby is on the big side of the chart, so i don't want to wait until 42 weeks to be told the baby is too big and i'll need a c-section! Also they work with their date, which means the baby would be in a very old placenta by the time i reach their 42 week mark.
AIBU? I can't see the baby coming this week (it doesn't help to be so stressed out about the lack of follow up-advice) and all the women i know got offered a sweep (and discussed options) at the 40 week app.
