Hey everyone,

My BMI is really high (43+) and i think i would feel a lot less anxious if i had a day in mind to start action ( i have plenty of time as only 31 weeks pregnant ) , i'm trying to not go for an epidural although i know the doctors will probably want me too in case i need intervention but i'm determined to try and stick with a morphine induction like my first birth.

So do you think they would allow me to book an induction due to the increased risks? i don't mind when i would just prefer a specific date.

Going to speak to my midwife in a week but was wondering if anyone has similar experiences etc

Following because I've been thinking about this too - I'm currently 25 weeks but measuring 28 on fundal height so think she might be a big baby too, BMI is 42 and I haven't put anything on during the pregnancy - I've been googling which is a terrible idea and definitely worried about going over my due date

If you had a previous induction it’s going to be the safest option to have another. I’m not sure whether they would “book” one in straight away because like you said it’s still early days.

I think your being proactive and sensible, I hope you have a good midwife that helps! Push for what you feel what you need and ask questions so you can understand their rationale and stay sane.

@KissyThief is there a reason for a second induction being safer? I've never heard that before and had an induction with my first (high blood pressure/mid 30s bmi) and hadn't considered I'd need one again.

Thank you everyone!!! Indeed i feel like it is the safest option and definitely want to have different plans in place so i can deliver her safely and with less stress.

Ill ask my MW on wednesday and get back to you about what she says :) also have a growth scan and consultant APPT tomorrow so hopefully they can shed some light on my situation @Justincase87
