Hi all
My very first forum post ever.
I'm in Sydney, Australia and am 6 weeks pregnant, due in December. My husband and I would like to go on a relaxing, sunny holiday somewhere end of June/early July with our 3 year old son. We had originally planned Fiji but now that I'm pregnant I'm concerned about zika virus so trying to come up with a plan B. I'm wanting to go somewhere with relatively good healthcare just in case something happens. Any suggestions?
Thanks so much!

Have a word with your doctor. Australia was on the list of countries for me to avoid due to Zika, so perhaps the doctors there can give real advice about Fiji in terms of places to avoid etc. As mosquitos tend to congregate around open water you may be okay in a luxury well maintained resort but the doctor should be able to advise you.

Sri Lanka is amazing and safe and there is no Zika virus there.

I went twice in a six month period as it was so lovely. Can't recommend it enough! xx

I used to practically live in Sri Lanka. I second the recommendation but June/July can be pretty wet there I'm afraid. If you Google Zika free countries you'll get a list of beach destinations. Had a quick look through. Bermuda? Hawaii? Seychelles? Bora Bora? Tahiti? Disclaimer: never been to any of these and haven't checked the weather at that time of year.

Mauritius! Beautiful place and no Zika! I've just come back from there and loved it!
