Hi everyone I’m just looking for a little bit of advice.
I’m currently 37wk0d pregnant and went for a growth scan today as I’ve been feeling reduced fetal movements the past few days. I was hooked up to the heartbeat monitor for over an hour a few days ago and everything seemed fine however because it was my 2nd visit they referred me for a growth scan. I wasn’t overly concerned as I assumed everything would be fine and it just being standard routine. However, today at my scan I was informed that I have polyhydramnios - I’d never even heard of this until today and had no idea that too much amniotic fluid could even be concerning.
Baby is growing fine and estimated to be weighing 5lb 15 oz; my deepest pool level is 9.7 cm and my AFI is 28.2 cm? Is this considered high levels or is it considered quite mild? The midwives/doctors weren’t exactly helpful in explaining what any of it all meant or what it could indicate so naturally I’ve been googling (terrible mistake, I know!) I visited triage today straight after my scan to get my bloods taken and I’ve got a consultation on Wednesday to discuss my results so hopefully I’ll get some answers then, however I can’t help but feel really anxious until then ;(.
I’m quite annoyed as I’ve always measured around the 95th centile for my fundal height however the midwives have always dismissed it and said it’s nothing to be concerned about... clearly not true!
I’m just wondering if anyone could help me and give me some advice on what I should expect before Wednesday? What does it all mean? Are my fluid levels considered mild or extreme? Any advice will be greatly appreciated!
Thanks in advance!
