I always assumed the answer was half a pound a week. This is accurate in the case of my first child who was 6lb at 31 weeks and then born 9lb 6oz at 38 weeks. But is this the norm?
Just had a growth scan for no. 2 and he is measuring 4lb 11 at 31 weeks so wondering if I should expect the same kind of gain weekly from here to the end..
I know the growth scans aren't always right but given that they were right with my first child, I'm now worried I'm going to be having another big baby Confused

That’s what I’ve been told. I’m looking at and 11lber+ based on their estimates of that as the weekly growth!

I think the half a pound is an average otherwise all babies would be a very similar weight! I had a small baby and there’s no way she was putting on half a pound a week, she was born at 37+5 weighing 5 pounds 8, having been estimated on a growth scan 2 weeks earlier at the exact same weight!
