At my 20 week scan sonographer said baby seems to be growing good from what he could get from the measurements (he is a wriggler) he said baby looks long too. What does that mean? Will he big a big baby? DP was 9 pounds when he was born and I'm just scared I'm going to have a big baby x

My DM has told me I was a long baby but only weighed 5lb 13oz. Apparently it was like someone had stretched me!

It means that the baby is long (tall, but they can’t stand up!) so their weight will probably be more spread out and even if they are ‘heavy’, they might not be big! If that makes sense.

Just means tall, could be a heavy baby, might not. I wouldn't worry. DD was 10lb6 and I had an easy birth, size doesn't really matter.

Long doesn't mean big, it means tall, Big means heavy...

At my 20 week scan we were told our baby had long legs...fast forward to his arrival...he was 8lb and 57cm long! But as other say doesn't mean your baby will be big weight wise it just means they are long...hope all goes well with the rest of your pregnancy and the birth Smile

Long limbed that’s all.
My daughter was called long and she arrived 7lbs7oz, I’m pregnant with dc2 and the sonographer said the same thing ooo this baby has long legs. Both my husband and I are 6ft so I would be surprised if they weren’t tall!

Sitting in my car before my growth scan thus morning also worried about having a big baby Hmm
Ds was 9lb 6 when he was born at 38 weeks and had a terrible labour and birth so really anxious to see how bump is measuring up

I was told my baby was long when I was pregnant and then when he was born everyone exclaimed how long he was. He is now 6'2 so has maintained his longness.
