Am 39+6, and managed to fall over this morning while putting on my trousers and dug an elbow into my right side in the process.

Rang mw, who said to go to hosp to get checked as I`m rhesus neg.

Did so, and they were brilliant, saw me straight away and did lots of tests - baby heart rate normal, he is very VERY active and they have taken blood to make sure I don`t need anti-D.

BUT mw there checked all my notes (quite impressed that she did, actually) and said my fundal height chart was looking a bit flat (at 34 weeks I was bang on the top percentile, at 36 weeks in upper middle section, and 38 bang on the middle line). She told me not to worry but has booked me in for a scan on Monday. So it looks like they are worried! Registrar said could be that placenta no longer doing job properly.

Bloody Friday 13. How concerned should I be?

My measurements dropped at the end, but I was told it was because DD's head had engaged so there was less baby to make a bump IYSWIM.

(In actual fact her arse had engaged, not her head, but same principle!)

I wouldn't be overly concerned, (although that's easy for me to say!) they may just want to double check, if they were really worried they would have you in for a scan now.

moorhen, just want to say good luck hun.. I am sure everything will be fine. TBH if they were overly worried I am sure they would have scanned today.

Thanks for the good wishes, really appreciate it.

Chirpygirl, was told on the day of the last measurement that LO was fully engaged now, so that does make sense. Hopefully that`s all it is.

Wish we didn`t have to wait all weekend, though...

If it helps I have found that something odd always happens on a Friday when you are pregnant!
Like I said they wouldn't have let you go home if they were worried, but as you are near enough to your due date they are probably just being over cautious. I'd rather that than under cautious!

Try and have a relaxing weekend, might be the last chance you get for awhile!
