Really big bump at 11 weeks - anyone else?

I am 11 weeks pregnant today and I seem to have suddenly popped out in the last couple of days! I'm only 5'2", which I think might have something to do with how noticeable it is, but I am finding it really embarrassing and awkward, firstly because people are noticing before I've got to my 12 week scan, and secondly because when I tell them how far along I am they go 'wow, you're really big already!' Blush

Has anyone else had this and how did you deal with it?

maybe just wear baggy knitwear until your ready to share some people just show early

Mammyofasuperbaby · 09/04/2019 15:51

I showed really early and by the time I was 12 weeks I looked more like 20 ( combination of being 4ft 11, IBS and a bit of a tummy before hand).
I dealt with it by embracing it fully, I was pregnant after all.
However if you are trying to hide it I'd suggest loose fitting tops
Everyone's different op, and our bodies react diffrently. I didn't grow much until about 20 weeks because as the bloat went down baby grew so I looked about the same. Some women are tiny and some huge and there's nothing wrong with either

Sadly I can't go for the baggy knitwear option as I live abroad and it's 24 degrees here at the moment!

Maybe twins? Grin

It's interesting what you say about bloating @Mammyofasuperbaby. Prior to becoming pregnant I was on a low-carb diet and it really flattened my stomach. Of course I haven't been able to continue that during pregnancy and I have wondered if my body has gone into some kind of shock at getting all the carbs again GrinBlush

Haha @nespressowoo it's definitely not twins! Due to previous problems getting and staying pregnant I have already had two scans and there's definitely only one baby in there Grin

I'm huge at 12 weeks but think it's about 90% bread and potatoes Smile Baby wants carbs but my body doesn't handle them well!

Yes I'm 13 weeks and massive. Look how I did at 20 weeks with DC1. Feel embarrassed too when asked how far along I am! Seeing a friend in two weeks who's 2 months ahead of me and I bet we are a similar size which will make me feel bad. I'm also short at 5 ft 2 and I want all the carbs. I know it's all pretty normal but I can't help feeling a bit embarrassed which I hate as I'm so pleased to be pregnant and know I should just be embracing it all again. I am hoping it all balances out soon though or I'm scared how big I will be by the end!

It's good to have some massive-bump buddies! Grin I feel as though I should cut down on carbs but I don't think I'm eating that many tbh - today I did have a sandwich for breakfast and another sandwich for lunch, but that's pretty unusual. I would say I probably have 1 or 2 slices of bread and a small portion of rice in a normal day - that's not excessive right?

Ha that's positively restrained. I've been known to eat up to 8 slices of bread in a day... toast for breakfast, sandwich for lunch and toast again for dinner.. Sometimes off normal food. Other days normal amount of bread consumption but eating chips, doughnuts and whatever else I can get my hands on. Today for example.. 2 slices of toast and butter, slice of gammon, a crumpet, a couple of slices of cheddar, a bit of smoked salmon, half a dairy milk bar, sausage mash broccoli carrot and gravy for dinner, cadburys mini egg pudding and two slices of bread with jam and butter. And I'm still feeling hungry but I'm telling myself I'm not. I'm drinking lots of water as well but it just makes me need the loo every five minutes rather than making me feel full. Not every day is like today but I wish no days were like today. I feel ashamed writing all that down and almost don't want to post now but I will and maybe it will make me think in future. I know when I was pregnant with my first I joked she would come out looking like a piece of toast as I was living off the stuff but I didn't gain more than the recommended amount and I had lost the weight I gained and more by the time she was 4 months old (gained that extra bit back since but will ignore that for now) so I'm hoping for the same again this time and not gain the extra back! I got complacent about my breast feeding weight loss! Think on reflection I am going to try and control the carb eating a bit now that I'm feeling less sick and tired though..!

Sorry that was quite the essay in the end. And it had paragraphs when I wrote it..Hmm

I’m 12 weeks and look a good 6 months pregnant. Both my mum and nan were the same. So in our case think it may be genetic
