Last 2 weeks- how to get through it?!

Due date is in two weeks so really I could pop any time but HOW do I get through this waiting game.

I am so so uncomfortable I just want to cry all the time. I am crap at sitting still but I just have no choice, my body will not let me do anything!

There's plenty of stuff that still needs doing in the house to be ready and spotless for baby arriving but stuff that would normally take me 20 minutes takes hours.

Any tips for getting through this last stretch??

I’m with you, although a few days behind at 37+3. Feel so big and uncomfortable, struggling with SPD and back pain, constantly tired... feel like I’m the laziest person ever as well as I have so much to do to get ready before baby comes, but “nesting” seems to have evaded me and I just end up lying down all day!

I figure that we should just be kind to ourselves and take advantage of this opportunity to rest as much as possible... not long until baby will be here and then rest won’t be so easy to come by! Late pregnancy is difficult enough as it is without putting additional, unnecessary pressure on ourselves.

Is this your first pregnancy? Do you know what you’re having (sex, not ‘baby!’ Grin)?

I'm 38+4 and I'm exactly the same. I wake up in the morning and I'm already ready to go back to sleep, haha!

Hopefully it's our bodies way of getting us enough sleep in before our babies arrive. It's so hard waiting and not knowing when they'll come isn't it, I just can't wait :)

But also trying to make the most of this relaxing time. Good luck :)

Mummab3ar · 09/04/2019 11:23

I honestly can't tell you how much the wait kills me at this stage 😭😂! To make matters harder I have a 2 y/o and a 5y/o who are both at home on easter holidays which means rest is pretty much impossible (dh works all day)!

I cant wait to meet baby now, and the braxton hicks are just teasing me all the time 😭😂

chipperchop · 09/04/2019 12:28

Ohh the Braxton Hicks! They’re a real tease sometimes, think that something is happening only for it to all die down after a few hours.

Mummab3ar · 09/04/2019 13:38

@chipperchop yes! And since this is my third they are actually quite painful. I get so excited every time only for it to fizzle out 😂!

Yesterday when I was doing some stretches I could feel the pressure of his head, and was like come on baby boy you know you want to come out and meet your mummy 😂😂!
Needless to say he didn't listen 😭😂

lizzie336 · 09/04/2019 13:40

The wait and the weight are so hard aren't they! 🙈

It's my first and I'd love another one, I just keep saying, I don't know how I'd be able to do this with a toddler and a job, so good on anyone doing it and if you have any advice I'll take it on board :)

chipperchop · 09/04/2019 17:32

Do BHs get more noticeable in subsequent pregnancies? This is DC2 for me, but I don’t think there’s much difference other than frequency... DS is only 15 months so it shouldn’t be that hard for me to remember and compare Grin

No advice though, Lizzie, sorry! Just sleep as much as you can, whenever you can Grin

Mummab3ar · 09/04/2019 19:03

@lizzie336 it works itself out somehow, you find what works for your family and set up your routine from there. It's all trial and error to be honest.

@chipperchop they say it does, but to be hones I didn't notice it with DS1&2 - they weren't painful, and they didn't start as early. Number 3 seems to be determined to be different 😍😂

cloudymelonade · 09/04/2019 23:11

@chipperchop it is my first and a little girl Grin

Congratulations cloudymelonade Smile how are you feeling today?

I had to run (more like trot!) for the bus this morning, was a bad idea Sad
