Third pregnancy scan

I've been told that I am going to need a third scan as I have got a low lying placenta. They said it does look like it will move as it is only a bit over but that I obviously need the scan to check it has moved when I am nearer to giving birth.

My scan is booked in for 36 weeks. I'm not sure if this is quite late as if I have the baby early this could be too late to see if the placenta has moved. Has anyone else had to have this and what week did they have to have the scan? Thank you Smile

I had this at my 20 weeks scan and I panicked u til I realised by speaking to others that it's quite common and does usually move as your pregnancy progresses. I had a scan at around 32 weeks which confirmed it had moved x

I had this, but if you do go into labour early then they will be able to scan you then. If you’re concerned, just have a chat with your midwife and keep your maternity notes close by so if anything happens all the information is there:

I had this at my 20week scam and had moved by 23weeks (got scanned for another reason) but I get what u mean as I had my ds at 33.3 so 38 weeks would have been no good!

I have this too and I also have a scan scheduled for 36 weeks. Just have to hope baby stays put until then!
