What should baby wear coming home due in May?

Hi

I am due in May (early May) I think it’ll be rather warm. But I’m unsure as to what to pack for baby to come home in? I was thinking babygrow, vest & shawl in case it’s cold. Then mitts & hat. Should I put a cardigan in or will it be too warm ? Thank you x

I think that will be fine. My DD arrived end of June and came home in pretty much that, no cardi.

That sounds fine. At risk of sounding like my nan, take the cardigan with you just in case it's a bit chilly, as early May weather can be unpredictable.

I concur, just bring some layers

My dd was born last May and it was really warm.
She had a grow, vest, hat and blanket when we left the hospital in the evening.

I had a baby in early June and one in mid August. They both came home in a sleepsuit and cardigan. They’re only outside for a very brief spell.

If you're going home the same day as you give birth I'd go with vest, babygrow and cardigan, midwives said to me that it takes them 24 hours for their temp to regulate once they are born. My DD was born in June, and she went home in that plus a little hat, that was the day after her birth

My DD was born end of May and came home in vest, babygrow and little cotton hat with a blanket tucked around her. Congratulations and good luck.

I'm due in May also and have packed sleepsuit, vest, hat, mittens, cardigan for coming home outfit. I have also packed a light velour padded jacket incase it is a little chilly.
