Mild period like cramps and localised back pain after fall

I fell down the stairs on Friday at work, (27 weeks pregnant). I went to hospital and had my badly injured leg checked as had a lot of pain. Just turns out to be soft tissue damage. No checks were done on baby as I had no pain/bleeding and felt movement.

I'm now ( two days later) experiencing mild period like aches and a strong pain in my lower back (right hand side) almost as if it's at the top of my bum. Every time I take a step it's a sharp twinge and when I'm not on the move it's a constant ache. Laying/sitting/standing doesn't aid pain.

I have asked employer if they could manage without me tomorrow as I am in a lot of pain and feel anxious about returning ( looking after two children) they have said I am needed at work. Boss told me after the accident not to worry about work as they are around but now has changed tune.

Any advice ?

Don't give your work the option to dictate whether you go in or not. You're in pain, tell them you're unable to work and won't be in. I would also give your midwife a call and ask for advice. You're probably just a bit bruised and sore but the period like pains should be checked out IMO. Is baby still moving as normal?
