Morning sickness - when does it end?

I’m 11 weeks tomorrow with a much wanted pregnancy. I’ve felt ill and tired since 5 weeks and it’s getting worse. Thankfully I’ve only been physically sick a couple of times but feel nauseous 24/7 and it’s worse in the evening. I also do this horrible thing of dry retching where I only bring up bile. Even with 10 hours sleep I’m still exhausted. Not seen past 9pm in weeks. Work are being great which helps.

Pls reassure me this will end. I want to enjoy food again and doing stuff (cancelled plans again today). My boss said she had sickness her whole pregnancy which rather scares me!

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

I could have written your post @SurreyisSunny I've been exactly the same.. Nearly thirteen weeks now and for the past week-ish its eased to every other day / every three days and just really late at night (10/11pm)

Hope its the same for you. Fingers crossed! Grin

It felt never ending to me, and to be honest didn't ease up until 18/19 weeks. Im 23 weeks now and can finally say I haven't felt sick at all this week!!! Hopefully yours will ease up soon!

It will end. Mine ended about 15 weeks. Just keep going. I know it does stay for some people and I was worried about that but it did go, now I’m ravenous 24/7.

About 18 weeks (and several hospital admissions) for me, both times. A friend of mine was still throwing up the day after her son was born.

Pregnancy Sickness Support is a very helpful and useful website

Mine ended around 15/16 weeks. It doesn't end for everyone but does for most. I get a little nauseous now if I lie on my back or I'm bending down (I'm 27 weeks now and those shoelaces are getting tricky), but generally I feel great! You can do it!

TerribleTwosPhase · 06/04/2019 20:31

Might be totally unrelated but I had the dry retching and bringing up bile until about 30 weeks and it only stopped when I got a prescription for heartburn/acid reflux so if you are getting this too it might be worth speaking to your gp. I hope it stops soon for you

Newyearsameoldshit · 07/04/2019 09:33

Hope I'm not jinxing myself, but mine has reduced considerably at 12 weeks.
Other people's experiences seem to vary wildly but fingers crossed you'll be feeling better soon!

Thankyou all.

Sincerely hope it improves in the next few weeks. Im waiting for the “pregnancy glow”, quite frankly at the moment I look terrible, thank goodness for concealer!

In pregnancy 1 and 3 it ended about 20 weeks.

With DS 2 it ended about 3 seconds after I’d given birth but was constant until then.
