Sleeping at 15 weeks

So all the books and apps are starting to talk about going to sleep on my left hand side, however I'm finding it really difficult and lying there for hours and as soon as I flip onto my right hand side I'm out like a light. I'm also still suffering from really bad sickness and sleeping on my right helps my stomach drain so makes me feel less sick. Due to the sickness I'm sleeping on a wedge pillow so I'm nowhere near lying flat, does this make it ok to sleep on my right? I'm so tired and so sick and just want a good nights sleep Confused

I'm 37 weeks and my MW told me all the way through that it doesn't matter which side I sleep on. Left is marginally better for circulation but sleeping on the right will do no harm. I'm still sleeping on my right.

@GiraffeMomma I wouldn't worry about it too much. I'm 22 weeks and I find it most comfortable sleeping on my right side and then turning over so I'm completely on my back during the night. Whichever position is most comfortable for you I guess. I even had some times I sleep on my stomach which I was worried about but apparently it's completely fine, around 25 weeks I'll probably not be able to do that anymore however with bump growing x

There isn’t really that much difference between the sides. Left might be slightly better, but as long as you’re not sleeping on your back it should be fine. I tend to go to sleep on my left side, but if I wake up in the night I move over to the right. It helps to make my hips hurt a bit less.

If I were more comfortable on my right side, I would have no problem sleeping on it.

Spargle, yes about the hips! I'm struggling to sleep much now because we have quite a firm mattress (usually amazing for front/back sleeping). Ouch! 3 weeks to go...

Oh thanks guys I feel much better now! I've been panicking and trying to force myself on my left and I'm just so tired! I'll try to sleep on my left but won't beat myself up too much if I need to fall asleep on my right!
Thank you Smile

As long as you're on your side it doesn't seem to matter:
