Hi guys! I've had a scan today that puts me at 9+1, and someone commented that it may be a little girl because of the 3 lines? What 3 lines are they on about?!

Confuseddddd!

Gender?

Can’t normally tell the etc until week 16. congrats on your pregnancy.

No way of knowing at this stage fron a scan. The three lines is usually in reference to a "potty shot" from 16 weeks onwards. Nub theory can give a good idea but that's not from 12+5 weeks

I didn't think there was any way of telling yet! This girl was adamant that you can tell from the three lines but she's completely wrong anyway!

@rebeccaxxxxx think the 3 lines are in her head 😂 you cant tell on a scan until 14 weeks minimum.

Sex of a foetus is still developing between 8-10wks so it’s unlikely that she can see much. But who knows!! She’s got a 50/50 chance of being right! 😂

Actually, sex is determined (of course) but is not visible at all externally. At 9w (ish) is when development of sex organs actually just commences...
