Anyone know when you're supposed to get them and when you have to hand them in by? Am 20+1 weeks today but am not seeing a midwife again until 21st August and I'm concerned it might be too late.

I got my MATB1 when I was 24 weeks, Docs would not let me have it before then and didnt really want to issue until I was 25 weeks but I kicked up a fuss saying my Employers WANTED it.......

I just rang up my doctors surgery and got them to leave one at the reception desk for me once I'd passed 20 weeks, but I had seen the gp a couple of days before so he knew I was pg iyswim!

Thanks for the advice. I knew Mumsnetters wouldn't let me down.

I didn''t give mine in untill I was nearly 29 weeks. My employer was fine though, but she is very chilled. Just said she was quite confident I really was pregnant.

Hiya.... I think from what I have read you have to give it in at around your 26th week of pregnancy (15 or so weeks before you give birth). Every company is different though so not a hard and fast rule.

You can get them any time after 20 weeks - I got mine today (my get out of jail free card!!) I am 25 weeks no problem picking it up at midwife appointment
