Hey guys,

Just curious to how many times a day you eat during your pregnancy and how many times a day you snack?
Personally I eat 3times a day & snack on fruit or some sort of chocolate twice a day.

Thanks x

Well prior to getting pregnant I was on slimming world, and I'm sticking to it! I feel sick if I dont eat for a while now, sooner than before so I have breakfast at 630, a snack at about 9 of an orange, then at my break at 1030 I have an apple, lunch is 1230ish, and then I have a snack at about 3, and dinner around 7ish! With lots and lots of way we inbetween!

That should say water inbetween lol!

When I was heavily pregnant with ds1 I would get up in the night and snack, I was so hungry in the late stages of pregnancy!

About every two hours!

I eat 3 meals a day, snack on fruit throughout the day usually a bit of chocolate or something after dinner

Generally still on 3 meals a day (14+3 here) but I might have a snack or two (fruit, crisps, biscuit) during the afternoon if I’m feeling I need it.

When I had morning sickness I had to snack constantly. Now I can manage on 3 meals (usually 10, 3 and 8 due to my working pattern) and 1-3 snacks as my hunger between meals varies depending on the day. More frequent small meals would be better as I suffer from reflux, but just isn't doable with work. I've gained a bit too much weight though, as I gained too much in the first trimester, it started to balance out in the second, but now at 24 weeks I've started rapidly gaining again, I think due to combination of baby and boobs growing and also eating very unhealthily at weekends!

Crackers / toast for snacking. I tend to base my meals around protein. It makes me feel a bit queasy sometimes but it really controls the hunger.

Frizzy1986 · 07/04/2019 15:59

I had to eat something every 90 minutes up until about a week or 2 ago and now I need to eat every 2-2:30hrs. If I don't, I just feel really sick. If I don't have a late night snack then in the morning I'll be so empty that I'll be wretching up saliva in the toilet. Joys!
I eat mainly carbs. Crumpets have been a saviour for me and I'm really loving blueberries too. However I won't lie and admit that there has been an increased uptake in crisps.

Oh and I'm 14+5 today

I normally eat twice a day (sometimes only once) and otherwise live on coffee

Pregnant I eat one meal a day still (in the evening) but sometimes have seconds once kids are in bed and have 1 or 2 other substantial snacks throughout the day.
Sometimes this looks like 3 meals and a snack, although more often I don't manage to eat until lunchtime due to HG

Lavellan · 08/04/2019 08:46

I'm basically having four meals a day except they're smaller than my normal meals. It's because I eat a small breakfast about 7am to stop any sticky feeling, then I want a second breakfast about 10am! Grin

I have some lunch at 1/2pm and by the time we're having dinner at 6/7pm I'm usually not very hungry and have about half the portion I'd normally eat. My metabolism seems to have completely flipped from evening to morning.

purplemama1990 · 08/04/2019 11:11

When I had morning sickness, I was eating a few meals a day, and snacking on fruit and yoghurt constantly inbetween.

Now that morning sickness has gone, I'm eating as I did before pregnancy, but added in two slices of toast every morning to stop the sick feeling! So I have my toast at 8am, cereal at 10.30am, lunch at 1.30pm, and then dinner which is usually anytime between 7 and 10pm.

I tend to eat more in the mornings because I feel really hungry, and then after lunch the bloating starts and I don't feel so hungry anymore. Some evenings I'll only have some salad for dinner because I'm not that hungry, but if it's pasta we're having then I'll happily sit and eat a ridiculous amount!

Im 30 weeks and have bran flakes at 6 am, my lunch at 1 o clock and dinner around half 6 so I need snacks on between each of them as they are so far apart. Problem is I can't keep down any fruit and dairy was making me nauseous so I cut it out so I'm really limited as to what healthy snacks I can have when at work. Work have a dietician in the office on Wednesday so I'l be looking for ideas of healthy snacks!

DoubtOfTheOrdinary · 08/04/2019 13:15

Pretty much constantly, but the only things that seem to stave off the nausea are quavers, fruit pastilles, beef, grapes, and raw crudite-style veg. Trying to eat more of the latter and less of the former, with limited success Blush Haven't put any weight on yet but only about 9 weeks so I'm sure it's on its way!
I've been on annual leave for a few weeks but go back to work tomorrow and dreading it as it's 12hr hospital shifts, often without a break to eat/pee. Just don't know how I'm going to cope, not ready to tell my boss yet 😭
