Hi

Confused - my best friend is pregnant (12 weeks) and in a different area. Her GP surgery referred her straight away for the 12 week scan so she received that in the post before her booking appointment.

Has anyone else experienced this?

We go on holiday for a fortnight next tues so I'm booked in for the booking appointment on 29 April. I will be 10 weeks by then (well 1 day off 10 weeks). Will the midwife arrange the scan at the appointment ? I'll only have two weeks to go before I'm 12 weeks then is that enough time?

I have a DD who is 10 but from what I recall from then, I was seen immediately by the midwife upon finding I was pregnant and then booked in. My GP surgery wouldn't allow me to see the midwife before we leave as I will only be 7 weeks - not sure what if anything I should do?!

I saw the midwife and after my booking appt i went home and my scan appt had arrived in the post for 10 days later - both processes had occured simultaneously

I saw my midwife at 8 weeks for booking, and at the booking appointment she told me the date my 12 week scan would be.
I still don't have the letter but at least I know it's this Friday!
It's annoying that each trust does it differently.

It's so confusing !! I might bite the bullet and call the scary GP surgery receptionist to ask!

The '12 week' scan can be done anywhere between 11 and 13 and a bit weeks so don't worry too much about it being a bit late (Just annoying if you are waiting for it to tell people!)

Sounds normal. My booking in appointment is for when I'm around 10 weeks, and I'll receive my scan appointment shortly after. Same as in my first pregnancy

I had to see a dr first then book an appointment with a midwife so I will be 9 weeks +6 when I see her for my booking in. When I saw the dr I had a sheet to hand in with reception to arrnange my scan which I received a letter a week later confirming scan so will be 10 weeks +4 for that appointment which actually sounds a bit early (will need to call them and check that)

I had my scan appointment letter through a good week before my booking appointment letter...had to have a GP appointment to get me in the system so I guess the hospital scanning admin were quicker than the community midwife admin!

Would be worth a phone call to the GP, can't hurt to ask the question

I confirmed my pregnancy late (10 weeks) I had a miscarriage 2 months previous so was terrified that it would happen again so kept putting it off. I had my booking in appointment on the Friday and my scan the following Tuesday. The letter came through before I got my booking in appointment because of my lateness of notification my midwife had to squeeze me in 😳

I rang the doctors when I was about 5 weeks and they arranged for the midwife to phone me back. She sorted my booking appointment for when I was about 10 weeks but also booked me in for my 12 week scan so I had the letter through from the hospital before I'd even seen the midwife.
