Nuchal measurement 2.9mm?

Hi all!
Had my 12 week scan today and everything looked fine. The nuchal fluid measurement was 2.9 and the sonographer didn't flag this up as a problem, although I started Googling like an idiot and have read some horror stories on forums and such. Apparently 2.9 is really borderline high risk for problems?
I opted for the combined screening so I have had the blood test today and am awaiting those results.

Was feeling relief when I saw my little baby's heartbeat and that it all looked normal but now I'm worried all over again!

Some babies have chromosome abnormality with a much lower NM but most have a significantly higher one. If the results of the combined test don’t reassure you, then you can always have a private Harmony or similar test.

I hope everything is ok.

Hi, this happened to us at our 12 week scan the measurement was 3mm. We did the same and googled and worried about it but the blood test results came back ok.
I'm now 23 weeks and nothing as obviously wrong at the 20 week scan.
Try not to worry too much and wait till you get your results to decide what to do next.

Thank you both, I know I should probably stop worrying but it's my first baby and seeing it there on the screen wriggling about has made this so much more real, I'll be devastated if anything is wrong!

Hi op mine was a bit lower at 2.7mm but like you I was worried and done lots of googling.

However combined with bloods results came back low risk and I’m now almost 33 weeks !

I’m sure it will all be fine Smile

Update!
Blood results came through today, I'm low risk, 1 in 4921 for Downs and 10 in 10000 for Edwards and Pataus.
So relieved!
