Anxious pregnancy after loss

Hi all,

I'm currently 7 and a half weeks pregnant. I previously had a missed miscarriage at 10 weeks and this time around it has been absolute hell. I had an early scan a week ago which showed a tiny foetal pole and seemed reassuring. I had regular evening nausea, food aversions etc. Over the weekend, all of these symptoms have faded and disappeared and I am not convinced of a bad outcome. Im not bleeding or in any pain but I didn't have any last time either and this doesnt reassure me in any way.

Has anyone else had strongly waxing and waning symptoms at this stage? I'm going a bit crazy here

Hi OP

Some symptoms will fade for a while and more than likely come back, I'm having it now..

No sickness, then sickness, my boobs aren't sore as much as what they were with my first pregnancy & I'm 9 weeks. I constantly take tests out of worry. Hope this helps even just a little bit. Just keep an eye on things :)

Thanks for your reply- its reassuring. I keep switching between periods of hope and complete certainly of another loss. Got a reassurance scan booked in for tomorrow. Fingers crossed.

@vasiram good luck with scan today! I'm sure everything will be fine..

Pregnancy is a worrying time for everyone but so worth it when you hold them :(

Was meant to be a :)*

@vasiram Sorry to hear about this.
I'm in early pregnancy too and feeling similarly. I had a missed miscarriage in December (lost at 12 weeks but measuring 9 weeks) and looking back afterwards, it was obvious that my nausea had stopped at the same time as the baby stopped developing. So this week I have been feeling upset as my nausea has faded and I have started feeling hungry and full of energy!
Two things I want to say to you (that I am also repeating to myself):

  • Lots of women seem to have mild or no symptoms - and this seems to vary between pregnancies too
  • Congratulations! Flowers The statistics are still overwhelmingly on your side

Thank you both for kind words and congrats also to both of you- It helps just knowing that there are others out there going through the same thing.. I do hope it works out well for both of you. Keep me posted.
I've reached a bit of a calm state now. What will be will be. I guess getting pregnant at all is still a gift, espicially when there are others out there struggling to get this far.
Will update tomorrow after scan.

I had exactly the same thing!

Missed miscarriage for my first pregnancy picked up at 13 weeks and then quickly into my second all pregnancy symptoms stopped. I drove myself crazy eating onions and garlic (usually make me ill in pregnancy) to try and get some symptoms back.

Early scan at 9 weeks showed not one but two babies!

So totally possible!

Hi all

Thought I should update and check in with everyone who had kindly replied to this thread.

I had a scan on the 3rd of Apr which was reassuring and showed a 9mm embryo with a healthy heartbeat.

I had another scan yesterday ( which I nearly cancelled as I thought I was being paranoid and insane). Unfortunately the baby has now shrunk away to a tiny dot and I could barely see her (its a girl in our heads). Once again a missed miscarriage unfortunately. I still have zero symptoms (good nor bad) except for the tiredness. Booked in for a surgical evacuation next week.

Unsure how to react at the moment, after last weeks scan, I drowned out all my doubts and told myself I was being daft and now this. I guess I would advise getting a scan just in case- if you, like me, have a sudden loss of symptoms and are anxious. Not much harm in getting a couple of extra scans if necessary. Hope you are all faring well.
