Question for Garmin (or fitness tracker) wearers

So I'm 9+3 and I've noticed in the last week that my Garmin is giving me some crazy calories burned considering the activity level I feel I'm doing. I'm usually very active, 12,000+ steps a day and run 3-4 times a week but since 6 weeks I haven't run and have averaged 5-6000 steps a day because I'm just so tired.

Today I've done 5500 steps roughly, and I've been lightly redecorating a classroom (I'm a TA) so nothing unusual and my Garmin says I've burnt an additional 500+ calories! I wouldn't ever burn that much on a non-run day before!

Does anyone know why this might be or has noticed a similar thing? I've noticed my resting heart rate is up a bit (was around 48 and now 54) and my HR is quicker to elevate now but still nothing crazy.

I'm confused!

Few weeks behind you but heart rate increase would be my guess. My RHR has gone up from about 51/52 to 57. Haven't noticed calories but haven't been looking - will have a look next time I log in to Connect!

@Weathergirl1 ooh let me know! Don't think mine showed much change in HR or calories until last week but it's such a jump! I'm not taking them as real calories though, although I do feel like I'm eating loads and weight is the same or slightly lower. I guess I'll just have to keep an eye on it, if its genuine calories then I'll maybe need to up my intake slightly (although I've eaten the best part of the kitchen cupboard today so it'll probably sort itself out!)
