Scan worry

Hey everyone

I am panicking like mad

I had a miscarriage last year at 8 weeks. I have had a private scan at 5.5 weeks and everything was as it should be, and then got quite sick with shingles. I had a scan in a and e and they saw a heart beat at 8 weeks but i have been on such strong meds in panicking.

I have a scan tomorrow which will make me 10 weeks and I'm so worried it's going to show nothing. I've lost all sickness and have quite bad pains in my ribs the last couple of days.

Does anybody have any reassurance? 😫 xx

I can completely understand why you are worried, but the chance of miscarriage etc..after previously seeing a heartbeat are really low ( cant remember percentage). Symptoms do disappear, i remember with DS1 mine all went at 8 weeks and i was so worried but all was fine, with my current pregnancy symptoms didnt disappear until about 14 weeks. Pain in ribs could be trapped wind, or just everything stretching. What time is your scan? Keeping everything crossed for you

I had shingles early on in my first pregnancy and took 800mg acyclovir if they're the strong meds you're referring to? Caused no issues at all.

It's at 8.15am so straight in first thing thank goodness. Hoping I sleep tonight

The shingles was an antibiotic but they also put me on oramorph for some nerve jaw issue. And codine and cocodamol.

I'm so anxious :( xx

I’m afraid there was no heart beat 😔 I’m an emotional wreck and have to wait until next week to take the tablets as they only do on certain days and I’m not here on Sunday. Feeling so low 😭 xx

I am so so sorry, i know your head is all over the place but once you feel ready ask to be refered to the miscarriage clinic. Sending you hugs, and please take care of yourself x
