Cramping at 8 weeks

Just need positive thoughts. Currently 8 weeks 6 days and I've started experiencing period like cramp. It's not painful but it's not going off. I called the midwife and they said if it gets worse they can book me in for an early scan. This is my first pregnancy so just a little apprehensive.

If it’s not coming and going then push for the scan.

It's very common from what I've heard from other women. I had a bleed at 7 weeks and had a scan at 8 weeks and baby was absolutely fine. In fact we just had our 13 weeks scan and was told we are actually expecting identical twins. My midwife told me when I had the bleed that any bleeding from brown to bright red, clots or not clots, cramps and no cramps is common but not normal and should be checked out. I had bright red, clotted blood with no cramps but my babies are fine, I'll keep my fingers crossed for you but it could just be your uterus growing to accommodate x

I would take up the offer of the early scan though. It will put your mind at ease x

Thanks guys. I'm going to give it till 3 as that's when I go home from work. They do seem to be coming and going a little but potentially not what I was expecting in terms of growing and stretching pains.

I see the midwife tomorrow anyway which was already booked before the cramps.

I'll keep you posted

I had so much cramping in the first trimester. Felt like I was permanently having my period. I'm 33 weeks now. Remember the same happening with my first pregnancy. She's currently in creche. Good luck!

I got a lot of cramping when I first found found out I was pregnant last week, more or less continuously, exactly like my period pains, and they've settled down quite a bit this week, but I do get slight pains every now and then but go away quite quickly. I'm not too worried as a.lot of people seem to have experienced them, but I will mention it to my midwife when I see her in two weeks time. Is defo push to have a scan if ur worried, it will put ur mind at ease! Good luck!

Thanks everyone! They have gone off this afternoon. Think I've been pushing myself too much the last few days so that probably didn't help either. Currently have my DH waiting on me. I'll mention it to my midwife tomorrow.
