Anybody else suffering from awful heartburn? What can you recommend and what are your remedies?

Strawberry flavoured gaviscon tablets are my life savers. Sleeping propped up rather than flat at night.

Oooh not tried strawberry gaviscon. Will get some tomorrow. I'm on orange Rennies and 2 ranatadine before bed.
Thanks for the idea.

Ask your gp for omeprazole, you take it once a day, safe in pregnancy, and it works!

As pp has said omeprezole works immediately and only needs to be taken once a day. I tried everything when I was pregnant and that was the one that worked the best. You can buy in pharmacy or get prescribed by gp

I used Zantac after seeing people raving about it on here, worked much better than Gaviscon for me!

Omeprazole has absolutely changed pregnancy for me, could finally start enjoying it once I got rid of the heartburn. I was taking Zantac OTC (75mg I think) twice a day plus probably half a bottle of gaviscon and was still struggling. GP said I could take up to 80mg of omepraxole daily if I need it but 20mg in the morning is all I need and haven’t had any heartburn at all since I started. Should also mention I have a hiatal hernia so suffered with reflux anyway and was on Nexium before I got pregnant. GPs seem to prefer to prescribe omeprazole in pregnancy and I actually find it better than the nexium.
