I am 16 /17 weeks with my third baby, I have felt continuous movements for about 3 weeks now but the last day or so I haven't felt much. I'm not sure if I should be worried or not? Any advice would be appreciated :)

If you've been feeling movement prior to this definitely ring the midwife/labour ward. No harm in ringing them. Hope you're ok!

I don’t think you need to monitor movements until around 28 weeks? I could be wrong though.

I'd call the midwife or go to the unit to be monitored.

At the beginning movement can be really sporadic - it’s not necessarily something to worry about just yet, but if you call triage they might ask you to come up for reassurance :-)

BillywilliamV · 30/03/2019 08:23

It’s really sporadic to start with, baby is tiny and may have turned and be kicking in a direction you can’t feel. I know it’s worrying but try to relax, he/ she will be giving you indigestion and keeping you awake at night soon enough.

Have you tried all the ways google says to do to get baby moving?
My personal favourite is shining a torch on my belly but I'll paste the link to 8 ways to try and get baby moving.

I'd probably call your midwife though and just explain that you know it's too early to monitor movements but because it has been constant and now it's not you're a little worried.
Hope everything's okay 🤞

Call for reassurance but baby won't be in a pattern till 24 weeks and they don't begin monitoring till that point. Still plenty of room for baby to move about in there so try not to worry. I'm sure you'll feel better if you call

My personal favourite is shining a torch on my belly I thought they were a lot older before they could make out light though?

I felt movement earlier this pregnancy, from about 16 weeks or so. It was kind of great but also at that point the baby is so small you could go ages without feeling. In a way I preferred it when I first felt movement at low 20 weeks because it got regular much quicker.

It’s up to you but there’s really not anything they can do at that gestation, they might check heartbeat with a Doppler.
