I am 16+3 and there is no sign of a bump. I've just put on some weight due to eating more than I used to. I know everyone grows at different stages but it's making me worry it's not growing. Anyone else in the same boat?

My first pregnancy I didn't get a proper bump until over 22 weeks. Before that I just looked bloated

I only had a bump after about 22 weeks, it's different for everybody. I wouldn't worry about it.

Is this your first baby? Usually takes a little while for a bump to appear if it is your first Smile

I think bloating is part of it, I have always been a big lady but I worked hard to loose weight and got a lovely cured waist before pregnant ... it disappeared and I looked like a recrtangle up to about 25 weeks then just popped ! Just looked even fatter 😂🙄 x

I had a lovely "bump" during 12 to 14 weeks but clearly it was all bloat as now at nearing 16 weeks I don't think anyone would think I'm pregnant! Pretty much flat again despite this being not my 1st pregnancy.

My first pregnancy I certainly had a bump at around 18 weeks but it wasn't an obvious non-bloat bump until about 22 weeks.

Ok great that makes me feel better! I'm a small frame and a size 10 and thought it would have been more obvious by now! Yes it is my first baby so I know they say you tend to show later. I'm being impatient it's taking too long haha!

It's just people's different builds; I was 35 weeks and my next door neighbour couldn't believe it! DS1 proceeded to be 9lb 7oz...

Yep same sort of build as you OP and there were still people at work who hadn't clocked on after my 20 week scan as I only had a bit of a bulge (first child too). 28 weeks now and people keep telling me my bump is neat/small but measured average at midwife so not worried. If you're like me you will be all bump though, nowhere else for everything to go 😂

Took forever for my bump to show properly. I thought because I am quite small framed and was quite skinny before pregnancy that I'd get an obvious bump pretty early. But no! Even now I'm 40 weeks +2 and some people arw surprised when I tell them. I think bumps are just one of those things that can vary massively and there's no hard and fast rule.

OP I am 17 weeks and last week I had nothing but now I do! I notice it when I’m lying flat, where my tummy used to go flat and my hips would stick out, I now have a firm dome from my belly button to the top of my pubic area.

I have never known anyone to get a proper bump until well after 20weeks. Older or larger people often look bigger earlier, but it is just bloating.

I'm 29+5 and went out with colleagues last night some of whom only just noticed I'm pregnant. Admittedly I wear looser vintage maternity clothes to work but I haven't been hiding it. Point being bumps are all different shapes and sizes. Friends can't believe I'm almost 30 weeks and yet there is a baby in there measuring pretty much middle of the curve for everything. I don't look big at all. I'm waiting for the explosion in a month or two.

I'm 24 weeks and only now am I getting a bit rounded. Can still wear all my clothes and no one would know I was pregnant unless I tell them.

I'm nearly 21 weeks and I just look like I've had a big meal. I was probably bigger at 7-8 weeks with bloating!

Most people really just look like they ate a few too many pies until well after 20 weeks in their first pregnancy.

The other thing with your body shape/build is also your uterus (placement of it, I think?) as well as the strength of your abdominal muscles. I’m pg with DC3, whilst I definitely get big and get a big bump later on it’s not been as big as a lot of other people I know (women of all manner of heights, body shapes, sizes etc). Nothing much to do with my size or the weight of my babies, I just carry low and a bit further back due to the way my body seems to be arranged! I entered my first pregnancy with much stronger abdominal muscles too (long behind me now Grin) which can also affect how easily you start to ‘look’ pregnant.

Currently 17 weeks and I can still fit into my normal jeans (size 8!) Don’t think I’ll be showing for a long time yet and lots of my work friends reckon I won’t have a big bump! At my midwife appointment we found a heartbeat so baby is still there!
