Worrying over nothing? Heart palpitations third trimester

Hi all
I'm 35+4. Had a bad night sleep last night, mainly due to waking up feeling panicky having chest/heart palpitations and my left arm felt odd- slightly numb I guess. I then panicked about baby movements but have felt him move although possibly less than normal. I still feel odd this morning, although I have a head cold so not sure whether to phone triage? I don't want to waste their time!

Thanks

What are you heamoglobin and ferritin levels like? Could be anaemia (super common in pregnancy). It doesn't do harm to supplement diet with spatone in the meantime...

Give triage a ring for peace of mind.

Definitely ring triage for an opinion. I was with my midwife last week and mentioned that I had difficulty breathing for about 4 or 5 weeks previous but thought it was normal due to growing baby taking up room. But she sent me to a&e and turned out my iron levels were too low, and this was making my heart race causing the breathlessness.
So I def think you should call for a medical opinion. It may turn out that all is ok, but if so at least you will have peace of mind

I had my bloods done last at 28 weeks and they were okay as far as I am aware! But will phone tomorrow if no better. Thanks!

I've got mild SVT which causes my heart to beat very fast randomly. Usually it only happens once or twice a year but during my pregnancies that increased to about once a week...
I went and asked about it and was told that pregnancy increases the workload of your heart so any heart issue you have will be amplified.
Even if you do not have any heart issue before hand you can still experience palpitations during pregnancy due to the stress on your heart. It's really common and not anything to worry about (unless your symptoms are severe or combined with other issues etc) just mention it to your midwife.
Please try not to worry.
I've had two perfectly healthy babies despite having a racing heartbeat every week or so throughout my pregnancies.

I would ring today if you are concerned- how are the movements now?
