Hi
I know there are a lot of threads on this but I'm wondering if any of you had SI issues during pregnancy (mine is coming and going but had a horrific flare a few weeks back rendering me unable to move for a week) I'm nervous about it coming back. I'm getting twinges and sharp pain here and there but it's mostly ok. I'm doing physio etc etc etc. Don't need advice for management. I'm 28weeks.

U want to know:

did yours get worse in last few months?

Did you have a vaginal birth with it?

Did it get worse in labour making you need and epidural?

Did it get better after labour or worse and if so are you STILL suffering?

How much pain from this warrants and elective? to prevent long term suffering...

Thank you!

I have SIJ pain and chronic hip pain from an injury, but during my last two pregnancies, I did find I suffered a bit more towards the end (as I am now at 36 weeks with #3).

I have had two vaginal deliveries no complications and no pain releif. I am planning on having another with this pregnancy.

I did suffer after too, but my SIJ and hip pain wasnt strictly brought on by pregnancy - just exacerbated by it.

Although I suffer badly I have never been induced, because I am stubborn and would rather not, but i know some people have. It just depends on your health care providers.

I can't really sit on any surface apart from my biething ball at the moment, and have been in tear with the pain, but I've not got too long left so am hoping I'll make it through.

I can sympathise, I've had this chronic pain for over 5 years now, and its not pleasant - I feel for you 💕! On the other hand some woman seem to be fine towards the end, and after - it really just depends. Hopefully your story will be a happy one.

Mine got worse in the third trimester (started around 11 weeks).

I did have a vb. forceps got her out. I had an epidural but that's because they augmented my labour. I'd been adamant I was going to avoid it so they couldn't make me lay on my back, but 3 and a half days of latent labour which then stalled meant I was desperate for relief. And then it only worked on my left-hand side!! All my pain was in my hip round to my SI on my right (because of the epi).

I was taking co-codamol most days and was on crutches for months. I walked out of hospital without the crutches (albeit very very slowly). I felt some immediate relief and am getting better almost by the day.

I'm now two weeks postpartum. It still clicks when I turn in bed, but it hasn't frozen up and I can move much better than before.
