Early scan

Had an early scan tonight. Based on LMP I should have been 7+3 however I was told I was 6+4. We saw a heartbeat though but the lady kept saying 'it's so early, it's really early, there's a tiny embryo there but all is as it should be'

Should I be concerned by the new dating? Why did she keep telling me it's so early!?

Try not to worry. The fact that there was a heartbeat is really positive. At this early stage it's very hard for them to date the pregnancy accurately as the embryo is tiny. At any scans before around 12 weeks you can expect to move forward or backwards by a good few days. To be honest even after 12 weeks you may find gestation varies - although as the 12 week is the dating scan they've never moved my due date. Anyway short answer, try not to worry - all sounds positive! X

I'm going to copy and paste my OP from January to reassure you. LO is now 19 weeks and all good Smile

Just this really. Very sure of date of lmp (12th November) and got BFP on 14th December, so is the fact that the private scan dated the baby at 6+1 a bad sign? They saw a heartbeat and said all seemed fine but could it mean baby is not growing right and may not be viable? Please be honest with opinions as the 'reassurance' scan has done anything but!

Should have been 7+4 at the time, sorry, the title of my OP explained that but it's missing from what I've C and Pd

Thank you - I was far from reassured at my scan !
