So lately I'm gagging alot, get a heavy feeling in my chest, feel like a lump in my throat and happens once I've eaten. Only had a banana and cup of tea this morning and it's started already. Only way it goes away is if I'm.sick which I don't want to be. I've tried rennie and gaviscon but doesn't make a difference. Anyone else have same symptoms and found a solution?

I've had reflux in the past which was treated successfully with meds from the doctor and it's come back with pregnancy

It's easy to say, but being sick long term makes it worse so I do everything to avoid it.

Sucking mints, sipping water and nibbling anything you can get yourself to eat will help. Don't bend over quickly etc. When in her prop yourself up on pillows and don't lay flat.

Meds from doctor are apparently pregnancy safe although I'm avoiding it.

I use Gaviscon Double Action tablets, which I suck so they dissolve slowly and cover my oesophagus with their fine ingredients for as long as possible.

If antacids won’t work for you, you should speak to your doctor about getting an acid reducer such as omeprazole (think it’s that word!). They can help a lot of people with heartburn.

Thanks ladies. It changes from day to day. I have just been sick with it and it burnt my throat so much it hurt. Never had this first time around. Mints make me sick so can't have them or chewing gum annoyingly.
