I am 38 and had a positive pregnancy test on Valentine’s Day. From looking at my last period we figured I am 11 weeks today. I started bleeding ( old brown blood spotting and just when wiping ) 10 days ago now. The midwife said they were not concerned when I first contacted them and that it was implantation bleeding which is normal. I still had it five days later and contacted them again and they said they still were not concerned and to call back Saturday if it was still an issue. I phoned back and they got me a scan which I had yesterday.
It was pretty inconclusive as they say there is a gestational sac and they could see it was in the right place but that it was only measuring equal to 6 week old. They say either my dates are wrong ( I do have irregular periods) or I am having a miscarriage. I will go back for another scan on 1/4 and they will re scan and should be able to give me an answer as to which one it is then.
I don’t have any children this is my first pregnancy. I know from some freinds that dating can be out a bit but I’m concearned that I would be 5 weeks out whoich seems like quite a big time frame.
Any thoughts or advice appreciated.
