Hi all
I need a bit of advice. I have pcos and conceived with clomid. Because my cycles are all over the place its been difficult to work out how far along I am. I had my first positive test on 13th March. I went for an early scan on 16th March and the midwife said she could see a gestational sac but it was too small to measure. I went back in on 21st for a rescan and she said the sac had more than doubled in size and the ultrasound equipment gave me a 5 weeks and 3 days reading.
Today I went to the EPAU where they did a scan and found the sac but said it was empty. The sonographer went as far as saying as i thought i was 6 weeks she would expect to see the yolk sac today and as she hasn't she can't even call it a gestational sac.
The nurse has taken bloods today and will repeat on Thursday but even she said judging by when i first got my positive test i should be 6 weeks and they would expect to see more. So she thinks I'm miscarrying.
We've been trying to get pregnant for 6 years so this is a massive blow for us.
Could I maybe not be exactly 6 weeks? Could the date from the ultrasound not be quite right? Even if it was out by a few days would it make any difference?
Has anyone had an empty sac at 6 weeks and ended up not miscarrying?
Thanks in advance!
