Ladies I am 8 + 5 weeks pregnant and the Past two days in work have been such a struggle, I feel exhausted. So much so I went home and lay on the couch until it was time to go to bed. Do other Mums to be feel like this? I just feel so guilty for bring so lazy

I was like this and struggled to work which is really unlike me (I work for myself and love it). I got to 2nd trimester and turned hyper - so it gets better haha

Bambamber · 26/03/2019 12:37

You're not being a lazy, you're growing a baby. I'm only 6 weeks and really struggling, I don't remember my previous pregnancys being so bad.

mrsk28 · 26/03/2019 12:44

I remember struggling really bad around 8-10 weeks in particular, so much so that I took a couple long weekends off work. Felt a lot better energy wise from around 14 weeks so take the break now if you need it.

Currently 35+4 and not as tired as I was at the start so enjoy the time lounging while you can ☺️

Porridgeprincess · 26/03/2019 12:52

Oh yes, the absolutely draining tiredness that was there from when you woke up to sleep. I had it til about week 12 then it lifted a bit and at 23 weeks now I am full of beans !!

sorintinkerbell · 26/03/2019 12:56

This makes me feel so much better!! The only way I can properly describe it is lifeless. Roll on the second trimester and some energy Wink

I spent most of my first trimester asleep on my first pregnancy it was a massive shock! I assumed I'd be fine but I really wasn't! The second one was worse but when I went to one of my checks when I was nearly 30 weeks I found out I was anaemic.

mcjx · 26/03/2019 13:17

Hi OP, totally know how you feel. I was knackered until about 18 weeks then I suddenly had a burst of energy.

Recently got to 30 weeks though and found out I was anemic, I was ridiculously tired and couldn't function! So I was prescribed iron.

Take care Thanks

MunsteadWood · 26/03/2019 13:19

I remember this - just feeling completely exhausted and falling asleep on the sofa around 7pm every night. Also got loads better for me around 2nd trimester too, so fingers crossed you'll be feeling better soon.

ColeHawlins · 26/03/2019 13:31

If you're exhausted, then it's not laziness. Laziness is having the energy to do something but not bothering.

Have your iron levels been checked?

I’m 12+5 with twins and some days even getting up and dressed does me in for the day. Today we went for our scan (an hour each way to the hospital) and for lunch afterwards; now I’m bed resting as I’m shattered!!

kyles101 · 26/03/2019 18:07

Oh, yes, so tired early on, and felt bad because it wasn't like I had a bump or anything! But your body is doing so much right now, I think when the placenta starts to take over a lot of the work you feel better, for me it was around 13 weeks I'd say. I used to get home from work and need a nap before I started cooking dinner!! Now 16+3 and have much more energy!

abcriskringle · 26/03/2019 18:14

Same!! 10+4 here. Don't remember being this wiped out with my first. I'm exhausted. I'm in bed as soon as my toddler is asleep - so by 7.30pm every night basically!

sorintinkerbell · 26/03/2019 18:27

So reassuring hearing everyone's personal experiences....holding you all to a burst of energy in the coming weeks 😂 haha x

Me too. 9 weeks here and last week I had a cold on top of it all and could barely function. I got out of bed and laid down on the bathroom floor because I couldn’t face standing up in the shower. I keep telling myself it will get better in around 5 weeks time.
