I should have asked this when I first started, but I find I rely on this place for real advice so I'd like to know the language of the site. Tried finding a translation but can't seem to find one here.

I don't use forums really, so never heard of these before.

DS? DD? DC? DSS? DH?
I have no idea what these stand for. I'd appreciate it if someone could write out a breakdown of the typical terms used here. Only one I've figured out is AIBU and YANBU 😆

Only commenting so I can be notified and read as wellGrinI find it very confusing. I think DD is dear daughter, DS dear son, DH dear husband, DC is dear children and I don't know but DSS sounds like dear step son..never 100% sure!!

Thanks GoodGravy. Its all a bit much for me and very difficult for anyone using a screen reader. Would be much better for people to include spaces between the letters too - so instead of a screen reader trying to read the random letters as a word, it would just read them as letters. Any ideas how to contact Mumsnet organisers about this? As a new user I havent found my way around the site yet.

There is a topic in the talk forum called Site Stuff -- you could try posting on that.
