How much have your boobs grown?

I'm 15 weeks 3 days and have gone from a 34D to 34F, which I brought a few weeks ago and I'm already bulging out off. I think I probably need either a 36F or 34FF ideally, but I'm going to try and hang on in this because I can't afford to replace at this kind of rate.

Ladies who're further along than me/have already had children whose breasts grew a lot in pregnancy, did you find most of the growth was at the start or should I expect this sort of rate right through? Am I even within the normal range here?

I'm quite worried about what I'm going to be left with after I finish breastfeeding and they deflate. Surely the size difference is going to leave them looking like half empty water balloons!? My normal bras look absurdly small to me now.

It's partly that you put on back fat, which is normal, so that makes the cup feel tight Confusedand then further along as your bump gets higher that makes you need a bigger chest strap.

So I just purchased a couple of bra extenders - elastic things that you hook on. I mostly wore the same bras throughout. I guess everyone is different.

I breast fed forever and look fine now I'm not feeding. Whilst feeding my cup size increased during feeding more than pregnancy , especially on one side Shock

I've still got some extra weight maybe 2kg more than pre baby, so that affects things.

I found that after about the halfway mark my boobs had stopped growing, went up about 2 cup sizes over the first few months but they’ve slowed down now. Bump has taken over the growth instead!

31 weeks. From 32c to 32h. Sigh. Same last time. Boobs weren’t horrific post feeding last time. I’m hoping they don’t grow much more when my milk comes in. I’m running out of bra sizes.

RosieS22 · 25/03/2019 19:16

Glad I'm not alone! I have gone from a 32D to 34E and I'm only 7 weeks!!
Never thought of bra extenders so thanks for that tip!

My cup size hasn't changed much - can still fit in my F bras. But my rib cage has expanded so the back measurement has gone up. I'm hoping I can hold out for another 5 weeks until I'm at home as bras don't come in my size where I live.

PBobs · 25/03/2019 21:59

I'm 29 weeks.

I’m currently a 32J and in the second trimester of my third pregnancy. Before first pregnancy I was a 32E. I’ve increased by a few cup sizes in all three pregnancies during the first trimester, after which the growth calmed/stopped, and it also never decreased after (despite weight loss back to original pre-pregnancy weight, and I can’t breast feed so didn’t increase for milk either). Can’t speak for ‘deflation’ post-feeding, but I didn’t deflate post-pregnancy. Just have larger breasts now! I’m expecting the same thing this time around.

I'm 40 weeks tomorrow and I'm not sure whether I have actually gone up a size. My regular bras are definitely more filled out now and I wear them on the middle or last hook now. And I did buy one in the next cup size up. They are definitely bigger but haven't gone up multiple cup sizes or anything. Oh and they have stretch marks whereas my huge bump doesn't which I find weird!

hardyloveit · 26/03/2019 06:54

When I was pregnant with my two I went from a 32b to a 36e with the first and sent dh to go buy me some bras and he came back with the most padded bras ever lol 🤦🏼‍♀️

Second time round they went to that size again but even bigger when my milk had come through

MeredithGrey1 · 26/03/2019 11:16

I went from an 28A/B cup to a 28E by about 20 weeks. Like you I was worried about buying new bras and outgrowing them (I bought some D cup bras around 14 weeks and outgrew them in about 2 weeks), but now I'm 27 weeks and the E cups are still totally fine, although the band is getting a little tighter. It's different for everyone though.

Hugtheduggee · 26/03/2019 11:21

Maybe half size at a push, no difference in band size. im srill wearing the same bras comfortably.

I'm term so not expecting any more changes. It was the same last time, and they stayed the same after birth too, I dont think I've really ever made much milk though -- thankfully I wasnt wanting to breastfeed anyway.

Claireb2203 · 26/03/2019 11:30

Do you ladies measure yourselves or get the shop to measure you? I brought 38 dd when I was a 36dd. Already feels tight around ribcage.

RosieS22 · 26/03/2019 12:18

I just do trial and error as I don't really like being measured. Means running in and out of the changing rooms a few times though if I don't take the right sizes/styles I want to try.
I bought non-wired most recently. Best thing ever!!

beforeIhit30 · 26/03/2019 17:04

I measure myself using the Boob or Bust guide/calculator.

Claireb2203 · 29/03/2019 08:11

Where do u recommend buying bras from? And underwired or non wired?

beforeIhit30 · 29/03/2019 09:16

I currently buy from Bravissimo due to my size, I personally like their own range and also Fantasie, I have narrow shoulders so a lot of other bras the straps easily slide down but normally don’t with these two brands. Also like the shape of the bras. I have a non wired sleep bras for sleep and lounging (very comfy!), I wear underwired when I go out for more support but also still comfortable. Main thing is to have the right fit.

One thing I like about Bravissimo in store, not that I go in regularly anymore, is that they will bring a variety of different brands and shapes to help you choose what fits well and what you personally prefer. That is what helped me narrow down to my top brands and bra styles.

However if you’re a DD there may be other stores that do really good bras in your size, which may be cheaper, it all depends on what you normally spend on bras (as I’ve been big for a while now I resigned myself long ago to having pricier bras purely as only a few brands stock my size).
