Last night I did 2 different pregnancy test and both had very faint positive lines. Thought I’d wait til this morning and do a clear blue test but now it’s just negative. It was 2 tests about 2 hours apart last night but could this have been fluke? Anyone else got any experiences they could share.

(Not the best pics but they both honestly had a line...definitely didnt imagine it)

Were they different brands? They might have different sensitivities

Flymo1988 · 25/03/2019 15:32

Yes, yesterday I did a cheap one from Asda and a cheap one from amazon and today’s was a clear blue

Hi there, when is your period due? Clearblue tests really should come with a warning that they do not give good early results because they need high levels of hCG present (50miU/ml) whereas other brands such as First Response Early Results need as little as 10miU/ml. I would test again tomorrow morning with a different, more sensitive, brand of test.

I have PCOS and am very irregular! So I can’t say when I was due that’s what makes it so hard to test!

Really helpful to know clearblue need higher levels of HCG though makes me feel like all hope is not lost :)

Don't think it's possible to get a Faldo positive. You can see a faint line in picture 1 for sure. But all tests are different. Your hormone levels double every 4 days so maybe wait a couple of days to see if you get a confirmed test.

False **^

Is that a "freedom" test from Asda? Sorry to say but I got a similar looking faint lind and then went on to take multiple other tests from different brands and they were all negative. AF then came a few days later. I've since come across a few threads on MN were people have had evap lines / false positives on these tests. Also the reviews on the Asda website are awful.

lostfrequencies · 25/03/2019 16:21

Ah sorry I didn't realise that the other test last night also had a faint line. Hopefully it's good news for you, maybe just hold out a few days and test again or do a FRER.

HJWT · 25/03/2019 16:32

Honestly clear blue are crap for early testing try FRER x

Sessy19 · 25/03/2019 17:00

I do see very very faint lines, but all the information that comes with pg tests do say that the tests should be considered negative if the line is not CLEARLY VISIBLE, and to test with FMU after period is due for accuracy.

HJWT · 25/03/2019 19:13

@Sessy19 they are clearly visible to me 😁

newbabyyy2019 · 25/03/2019 19:35

I always had more visible positives when doing evening tests over morning ones

newbabyyy2019 · 25/03/2019 19:38

Also here's a picture of line progression on the cheap tests that I got.. notice the top one is very faint, that one was my first positive taken in the afternoon 14 dpo the other ones were a week later onwards

**youll need to click on the photo to see the top test

Flymo1988 · 25/03/2019 19:47

How long before you got a slightly darker line? the first one looks similar to mine.

There's been loads of women on this forum reporting that the Asda tests have given false positives. They are notorious for it Thanks

newbabyyy2019 · 25/03/2019 20:51

@Flymo1988 I honestly can't remember the exact amount of time between each of those tests as I was taking tests constantly just to see the other line appear but I'd say it took about a week for the line to get noticeably darker
