When did your kicks get strong?

I'm 25+3 now, but have an anterior placenta and didn't feel any moment until 22 weeks.

Some days the kicks are so strong - particularly in the evenings - that you can see them quite clearly. Other days, I really have to concentrate and often lie down and focus to feel anything - just little flutters I worry could be just caused by gas or my breathing.

Just wondering other mums to be found the kicks got strong and regular. Finding this in between bit super stressful!

I'm the same at the moment. I'm 21weeks. Some days she goes crazy, then others - like today - it's tough to feel much. My placenta hasn't been identified as anything so hopefully it's just normal. Sorry not much help I know.

Yes. I experienced what you are describing between weeks 16 and around 26. Some days very active and some really lazy. I'm now week 29 and movement is like clockwork and far more definite. No mistaking it for gas and I know when I'll feel it. I get some short, sharp movements and lots of wriggling and rolling. Baby definitely responds to food and I find I feel the movement more strongly when lying/sitting with shoulders propped up - against headboard for example. That and lying on my left side - then I can feel the softer movements.

I felt movement from around 18 weeks but the stronger defined moves only started about 25 weeks. I'm now 27 weeks and getting booted in all sorts of places! We are starting to settle into a pattern now whereas before I was reliant on certain triggers to notice much movement. For example now is a peak messing about time and sure enough I've a baby rolling around under my right arm which is resting on my bump!

I was 24 weeks - with being on mumsnet for a little while I was starting to panic as everyone else seems to be much earlier!

I had a busy weekend there and baby was not quite as active but then like you when I had a quiet hour laying down I could feel movement again Smile

I’m 25 weeks with an anterior placenta too. I cant feel any proper kicks just spins and flutters. Really got me worried so I got checked out. All was fine. Was told the baby doesnt get into a routine of kicking until around 26-27 weeks so I’m holding out another week. It’s such a worry isn’t it?!

Hi just to weigh in. I'm 37+2 now with an anterior placenta and honestly haven't felt many "kicks" at all throughout my pregnancy. Mostly baby shuffles around and pushes outwards and a lot of this I didn't feel until at least 25 weeks. I was having regular checkups for other stuff so I knew everything was fine and if baby's your first I wouldn't worry too much

I’m 27 weeks and don’t have an anterior placenta but the baby definitely has quiet and busy days, some days I can go all day with hardly a peep and some days it’s none stop. I’ve found this stressful as to what to judge as reduced movements because sometimes there are definitely less but it’s like their weaker rather than total absent. We do seem to still be having three or so stronger days followed by three or so weaker kicking days.

I had an anterior with DD and with this one at 20 weeks.
DD would often disappear, I had her checked when I really couldn’t feel anything for a day or so after 22 weeks. By 30 the kicks were pretty full on and I could fell what she was up to.
I can feel this one and could from 17 weeks, but it was flutters and I think because I knew what to feel for. This one also vanishes sometimes, but as it’s early on I’m not too worried.
If you do get worried then always give them a call and get checked, better not to be anxious and they will understand the anterior placenta makes it tricky.
Not sure I have helped much, but I know how you feel! Maybe TMI but once I saw there size of the placenta with DD I understood how she was hiding and the kicks were cushioned!

I'm with an anterior placenta and for the last week I've been having the bony draggy type kicks now. I'm 25 weeks

PhoebeBear · 27/03/2019 23:48

I'm 21 weeks and stared feeling them from 18 weeks. I was wondering too when I'd be able to see the kicks. They defiantly feel stronger than once he first started and they happen more frequent now. I always feel them every night and just started to feel the throughout the day x
