Blood after a stretch and sweep

Had a stretch and sweep on Thursday afternoon at 40 weeks. Midwife said baby fully engaged and 2cm dilated.

Had lost some bloody show the day before and expected to lose more after the S+S. Have been losing mucus and pinky/brown blood since.

Have also had a few episodes of losing bright red blood and one/two clots. Not sure if this is to be expected? And how much bright red blood is 'too much' if any?

Give your midwife a call - it's always for the best, and they will totally think you're doing the right thing, even if it is a normal amount.

To reassure you, though, I've had 4 sweeps (2 worked, 2 not) and had bleeding after all of them, more for the ones that were followed soon after by labour! Good luck

I had lots of blood and mucus after my s&s, last until I went into labour 2 days later!
